{"id":10020,"date":"2021-07-25T17:33:07","date_gmt":"2021-07-25T17:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staging.kaukauchronicles.org\/?p=10020"},"modified":"2021-07-25T17:33:07","modified_gmt":"2021-07-25T17:33:07","slug":"yfds9bm5a4x9jdn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.kaukauchronicles.org\/?p=10020","title":{"rendered":"Cream of Papaya Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"sqs-html-content\" data-sqsp-text-block-content>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">1 cup ripe papaya<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">2 bay leaves<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">1 onion, sliced<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">White sauce<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">2 tbsp. butter or margarine<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">2 cups water<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">2 tbsp. flour<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">1\/2 cup evaporated milk &#8211; add water to make 2\/3 cup<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">1\/2 tsp. salt; A pinch of pepper<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Boil papaya in bay leaves, water and onion, 10 minutes.  Pass through a sieve and set aside.  Melt butter or margarine.  Stir flour, add milk and cook until thick.  Mix strained papaya and white sauce and boil.  Season with salt and pepper.
