We are so lucky that Allisa Benjamin joined the Kau Kau Chronicles Facebook group<\/a>! She was so generous and shared photos of her amazing cookbook collection that she inherited from her late mother \ud83c\udf3aLily Cordero\ud83c\udf3a.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In looking at the photos Allisa shared, I saw a cookbook from the \u201cNew Products Show.\u201d I recalled that a few people inquired about whether we had any of these cookbooks on the site. I subtly hinted to Allisa that it would be amazing if we could share this cookbook on the site. <\/p>\n

\u26a1\ufe0fAllisa scanned every page of this cookbook from ~1967<\/strong> and shared the files with us!\u26a1\ufe0f<\/p>\n

You can see all of the recipes here<\/a>\u2014and what a selection! It includes gems like Potato Chip Cookies<\/a>, Chicken With Marungay<\/a>, Papaya Custard<\/a>, and something called Paniola Spread<\/a>!<\/p>\n

The cookbook also included an incredible set of ads from the era. I thought it would be fun to share them on the site as well because, like the recipes in the cookbook, the ads also vividly recall an era in Hawai’i\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
