Then add eggs, one at a time.  Bake 325 degrees for 35 minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>CREAM FILLING:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">1\/2 c. sugar<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">2 egg yolks, beaten<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">2 c. scalded milk<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">3-1\/2 tbsp. cornstarch<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">In double boiler cook until thick and then remove from fire.  Let it cool for a while.  While warm add 1\/3 block butter, 1 tbsp. powdered sugar.  Cool and spread over cake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>FROSTING<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">2\/3 c. boiling water<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">1-1\/2 c. sugar<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">2 egg whites<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">1 tsp. Karo (red)<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">Cook the syrup until it drops from spoon.  If it is under cooked, frosting disappears.  If you cook until stringy it\u2019s hard to spread.
