Remove from stove and arrange slices of pineapple in butter-sugar mixture.  Put crushed pineapple around the slices, patting firmly to set.  Sprinkle chopped nuts over all.  Pour cake batter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Cake batter:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">1 box orange-pineapple flavored gelatin<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">3\/4 cup cold water<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">1 cup oil<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">4 eggs<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:40px;white-space:pre-wrap;\" class=\"\">1 box lemon velvet cake mix<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Dissolve gelatin in water.  Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.  Pour over caramelized pineapple mixture and bake about 45 minutes at 350 F.
