Easy Economical Eggless Cookies
2-1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed 1 cup shortening 1/4 cup fresh milk 1 tsp. vanilla Cream shortening well. Gradually add sugar and cream until light and fluffy. How can you NOT try a cake with “De Luxe” in its name? There is no shortage of prune cake recipes in the Hawai’i cookbooks of this era, and based on the results of this one recipe, I can see why. It is fluffy, moist, and subtly prune-y! The tender bits of chopped cooked prunes throughout add a delightful texture.
