Date Layer Bars

1 cup shortening 1-1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs 2-1/2 cups sifted flour 1 tsp. soda 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. salt 4 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Shape into tiny balls of the size of walnuts….
