Fruit Cocktail Cake

This is a easy cake to make. It is rather heavy and almost like a pudding. No icing is necessary.

Sift:
1-1/2 cups flour (regular)

Resift with:
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. soda
pinch of salt

Add to dry ingredients:
2 well beaten eggs
4 tbsp. melted butter
1 can (large #2-1/2) of well drained fruit cocktail

Spread batter in oblong (2 x 8 x 12) pan

Sprinkle the top with mixture of:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Bake in moderate oven at 325 F for about 1 hour.

Cool in pan. Cut into squares.
