Bean Soup (Portuguese) #2




2 pounds lean pork cut in strips2 tbsp. flour2 tbsp. sugar1/2 c shoyu1/2 tsp. ajinomoto1/8 tsp. Chinese five spicesFew drops red food coloring Soak pork strips an hour or longer and deep fry.
2 White Kanten 4 cups water 2 cups sugar 1/2 pint coconut milk (frozen) Soak Kanten in water for 1/2 hour. Boil until Kanten is dissolved. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add coconut milk and cook for 5 minutes. Pour into mold and cool at room temperature. Cut into desired shapes.
1 can abalone, sliced 1 large onion (sliced thin) 1/2 cup vinegar (spiced with 2 or 3 Hawaiian peppers) 1/4 cup shoyu Let this stand about 2 hours before serving so that it will have the pepper taste.
