DEEP DISH PIZZA

1 Ib. bulk sausage or ground beef

18 oz. can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

1/2 tsp. basil

1-1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese

14 oz. can mushrooms drained

1/4 c. chopped green

pepper

1/4 c. catsup or tomato sauce

1/2 tsp. fennel seed

1/2 tsp. oregano

Parmesan cheese

Brown sausage or meat in frying pan. Separate crescent dough into 8 triangles. Place triangles in ungreased 9 pie pan. Press over bottom and up sides to form crust. Drain meat. Stir in c. Mozzarella cheese (reserve 1/2 c. for topping) mushrooms, green peppers, catsup (or tomato sauce) & herbs. Spoon into crust. Top with remaining mozzarella and sprinkle with Parmesan. Bake at 325 for 30-35 min. – wait 5 min. – cut into wedges.
